  • Use the following procedures to troubleshoot the steering lock system.

PROCEDURE

1.

VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

CHECK DTC*

(a) Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output (See page ).


(b) Clear the DTCs (See page ).


(c) Recheck for DTCs (See page ). Based on the
DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same wireless door lock control system DTC, LIN communication system DTC, steering lock system DTC, engine immobiliser system DTC or smart key system (for entry function) DTC by reproducing the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

Result

Proceed to

DTC is not output.

Wireless door lock control system DTC is output.

LIN communication system DTC is output.

C

Steering lock system DTC is output.

Engine immobiliser system DTC is output.

Smart key system (for entry function) DTC is output.
