Toyota 4Runner: How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT:

  • The wireless door lock control system troubleshooting procedures are based on the premise that the power door lock control system is operating normally. Check the power door lock control system first before troubleshooting the wireless door lock control system.
  • Use these procedures to troubleshoot the wireless door lock control system.
  • *: Use the Techstream.

PROCEDURE

1.

VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

CHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (See page ).


(b) Clear the DTCs (See page ).


(c) Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same LIN communication system DTC or wireless door lock control system DTC by reproducing the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
