INITIALIZATION
1. INITIALIZE AUTOMATIC RUNNING BOARD SYSTEM
NOTICE:
When a side auto step controller ECU assembly is replaced, the side auto step controller ECU assembly must be initialized. Functions such as deploying/stowing and jam protection do not operate if the initialization is not performed.
HINT:
When the battery is replaced, it is not necessary to initialize the side auto step controller ECU assembly.
(a) Initialization procedure when replacing the side auto step ECU with a new one:
(1) Turn the side auto step switch assembly to OFF.
(2) Open either the front or rear door on the driver side and the front or rear door on the passenger side.
(3) Turn the side auto step switch assembly from AUTO to OFF 5 times in succession within 3 seconds.
(4) Turn the side auto step switch assembly to AUTO.
(5) Close either the front or rear door on the driver side and the front or rear door on the passenger side, and wait for 1.5 seconds or more.
(6) Open the closed doors, deploy the automatic running board and turn the side auto step switch assembly to OFF.
