INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Front Wiper Switch

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
A-1 (+S) - A-3 (+1)	Off	Below 1 Ω
A-1 (+S) - A-3 (+1)	INT
A-2 (+B) - A-3 (+1)	MIST
A-2 (+B) - A-3 (+1)	LO

Front Washer Switch

B-2 (EW) - B-3 (WF)	On	Below 1 Ω

Rear Wiper Switch

Rear Washer Switch

A-5 (WR) - B-2 (EW)	WASH	Below 1 Ω

B-7 (+1R) - B-2 (EW)	On + WASH	Below 1 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.

(b) Check the intermittent operation.

Connect the positive (+) lead of a voltmeter to terminal A-3 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-2 (EW).
Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal A-2 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-2 (EW) and A-1 (+S).
Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal A-1 (+S) for 5 seconds.

Connect the negative (-) lead of the battery to terminal A-1 (+S). Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check the voltage between terminals A-3 (+1) and B-2 (EW).

OK:

Voltage changes as shown in the illustration.

If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
