Toyota 4Runner: Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction (C1436)

DESCRIPTION

Refer to DTC C1419 and C1435 (See page ).

C1436

Either condition is met:

  1. With the vehicle stationary, the yaw rate and acceleration sensor output value is not 0°/s.
  2. An abnormal comparison value.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor, perform calibration (See page ).

  • Check the yaw rate and acceleration sensor signal after replacement (See page ).

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (YAW RATE SENSOR)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Select the Data List mode on the Techstream (See page ).

CHECK YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor is installed properly (See page ).


OK:

The sensor is tightened to the specified torque.

The sensor is not installed at an angle.
