OPERATION CHECK

1. INSPECT ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION

NOTICE:

Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial setting.

HINT:

The illuminated entry system illuminates the lights below.

  • Engine switch illumination*1
  • Ignition key cylinder light*2
  • Map light
  • No. 1 room light
  • Door mirror foot light*3
  • Interior foot light*4
  • Inside handle illumination*5

(a) The operation and condition of this control are described below.

Operation

Condition

Lights fade in and illuminate constantly

Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.

Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

When any of the following conditions is met:

  • The key is brought within any vehicle exterior detection area when the ignition switch is off and all the doors are closed.*1
  • Any door is unlocked when the ignition switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.
  • The ignition switch is turned from ACC to off when all doors are closed.
  • All the doors are closed when any door is opened and the ignition switch is off.

Lights fade out immediately

When either of the following conditions is met:

  • The ignition switch is turned from off to ACC when all the doors are closed.
  • All the doors are locked when the ignition switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

Battery saving

The doors remain in the same condition for 20 minutes and the key is outside the vehicle exterior detection area.*1

The doors remain in the same condition for 20 minutes and the key is not inserted into the ignition key cylinder.*2

2. BATTERY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION

(a) Check that when the engine switch is off, all of the interior lights turn off within approximately 20 minutes.

HINT:

When the light control operation conditions are met, battery saving control is canceled.
