NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing
repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See

PROCEDURE

1. |
CHECK FOR DTC |
(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(b) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (See page
).
(c) Turn the ignition switch off.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(e) Check for DTCs (See page
).

2. |
CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR RH |
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch off. |
|
(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Interchange the rear airbag sensor LH with RH and connect the connectors to them.
(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(f) Clear the DTCs stored in memory (See page
).
(g) Turn the ignition switch off.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(i) Check for DTCs (See page
).

(j) Turn the ignition switch off.
(k) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(l) Return the rear airbag sensor LH and RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.

(a) Turn the ignition switch off. |

(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Interchange the rear airbag sensor LH with RH and connect the connectors to them.
(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Turn the ignition switch off.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

Rear Airbag Sensor Assembly RH Initialization Incomplete (B1633/81,B1638/82)Short to GND in CAN Bus Line
DESCRIPTION
There may be a short circuit between the CAN bus lines and GND when the resistance
between terminals 6 (CANH) and 4 (CG) or terminals 14 (CANL) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3
is below 200 Ω.

PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL LOWER BALL JOINT DUST COVER LH
(a) Pack the lower arm ball joint with MP grease.
Grease capacity:
8.0 g (0.282 oz.)
(b) Apply MP grease to the locations shown in the illustration.
