DESCRIPTION

When the front doors are closed, each power window regulator motor can control its power window operation for approximately 43 seconds after the ignition switch is turned from ON to off by receiving operation permission signals from the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block). However, when approximately 43 seconds have elapsed, or a front side door is opened within approximately 43 seconds of the ignition switch being turned off, all the power window regulator motors disable manual operation.

During the auto function operation, when 43 seconds have elapsed and key-off operation is prohibited, the window operation stops immediately.

PROCEDURE

1.	CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Check for LIN communication system DTCs related to the power window control system (See page ).

OK:

LIN communication system DTCs are not output.

GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

2.	CHECK POWER WINDOW OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER IGNITION SWITCH OFF

(a) Check the power window operation function after the ignition switch is turned off (See page ).

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

3.	READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is functioning properly (See page ).

4.	CHECK FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Open a front door and check that the map light illuminates (See page ).

OK:

Map light illuminates.

REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

5.	CHECK DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily replace the driver side junction block with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the key-off operation function operates normally.

END (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)
