Toyota 4Runner: Backup Battery Degradation (B15EC)

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) detects either of the following conditions.

  • The BUB (Back-Up Battery) charge level becomes less than the criteria.
  • Automatic Collision Notification (ACN) was performed.

When this DTC is stored, the BUB (Back-Up Battery) must be replaced. BUB (Back-Up Battery) degradation DTC B15EC is not reported in the deactive mode.

NOTICE:

  • If this DTC is stored, be sure to replace the BUB (Back-Up Battery) with a new one.
  • After the BUB (Back-Up Battery) is replaced, it is necessary to clear this DTC.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds.

(d) Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs (See page ).
