INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

HINT:

Use the same procedure for the power seat RH and power seat LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the power seat LH side.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:

The nuts must not be reused.
Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

(a) Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, install the front seat side airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

Torque:

5.5 N·m {56 kgf·cm, 49 in·lbf}

(b) Attach the 2 clamps to connect the front seat side airbag wire harness.

2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Manual Seat)

(a) Install the separate type front seatback cover with pad to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

(b) Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

(c) Attach the 2 hooks to connect the separate type front seatback cover bracket to the separate type front seatback spring assembly with the nut.

Torque:

5.5 N·m {56 kgf·cm, 49 in·lbf}

NOTICE:

After the seatback trim cover is assembled, make sure the side airbag strap is not twisted.

(d) Close the 2 fasteners and separate type front seatback cover.

(e) Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.
Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seatback cover.

(f) Attach the fastening tape to connect the airbag wire harness.

(g) Attach the 3 airbag wire harness clamps.

(h) Attach the claw to connect the airbag connector.

(i) Install the rubber band to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

3. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Power Seat)

(a) w/ Climate Control Seat System:

(1) Install the separate type front seatback cover with pad to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

(2) Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

(3) Attach the 2 hooks to connect the seatback cover bracket to the separate type front seatback spring assembly and install the nut.

Torque:

5.5 N·m {56 kgf·cm, 49 in·lbf}

NOTICE:

After the seatback trim cover is assembled, make sure the side airbag strap is not twisted.

(4) Using hog ring pliers, install 5 new hog rings.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.
Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seatback cover.

(5) Attach the 7 hooks.

(6) Attach the fastening tape to connect the airbag wire harness.

(7) Attach the 3 airbag wire harness clamps.

(8) Attach the claw to connect the airbag connector.

(b) w/o Climate Control Seat System:

(1) Install the separate type front seatback cover with pad to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

(2) Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

(3) Attach the 2 hooks to connect the separate type front seatback cover bracket to the separate type front seatback spring assembly and install the nut.

Torque:

5.5 N·m {56 kgf·cm, 49 in·lbf}

NOTICE:

After the seatback trim cover is assembled, make sure the side airbag strap is not twisted.

(4) Close the 2 fasteners and separate type front seatback cover.

(5) Using hog ring pliers, install 3 new hog rings.

(6) Attach the fastening tape to connect the airbag wire harness.

(8) Attach the claw to connect the airbag connector.

(9) Install the rubber band to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

4. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD CLIP (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat Type RH Side)
