Toyota 4Runner: Operation Check

OPERATION CHECK

1. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(b) Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the AUTO position.

(c) Cover the automatic light control sensor.

(d) Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.

(e) Uncover the automatic light control sensor.

(f) Check that the low beam headlights and taillights turn off.

2. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

(a) When the headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position:

(1) Close the driver side door.

(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(3) Turn the low beam headlights, high beam headlights and front fog lights on.

(4) Turn the ignition switch off.

(5) Open and close the driver side door.

(6) When the delay time set through the customize function elapses, check that all the lights turn off.

(b) When the headlight dimmer switch is in the tail or head position:

(1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(2) Turn the low beam headlights, high beam headlights and front fog lights on.

(3) Turn the ignition switch off.

(4) Check that the low beam headlights, high beam headlights and front fog lights turn off immediately.

HINT:

The taillights, clearance lights and license plate lights remain on.

3. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

(a) Turn the headlight dimmer switch off. (w/o DRL OFF switch)

(b) Headlight dimmer switch not in the DRL OFF position. (w/ DRL OFF switch)

(c) Start the engine.

(d) Release the parking brake.

(e) Check that the daytime running lights (dimmed high beam headlights) come on.
