Toyota 4Runner: Diagnosis System

DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. FUNCTION OF AUTOMATIC RUNNING BOARD WARNING LIGHT

(a) When a malfunction is detected in the automatic running board system, the automatic running board warning light in the combination meter comes on to inform the driver of the malfunction.

(b) The operation and condition of this control are described below.

  • When the jam protection function has operated.*1
  • When the automatic running board is not fully stowed while the vehicle is moving (at a speed of 8 km/h [5 mph] or more).*2

Blinks

When a DTC has been output.

HINT:

  • *1: The automatic running board warning light turns off when the automatic running board is deployed or stowed normally with the operation of the doors. Also, the warning light will turn off 20 minutes after it is lit.
  • *2: The automatic running board warning light turns off when the automatic running board is stowed normally. Also, the warning light will turn off 20 minutes after it is lit.
  • *3: The automatic running board warning light turns off when the abnormal state of the automatic running board system is resolved, and the system returns to a normal state. Also, the warning light will turn off 20 minutes after it is lit, even if the abnormal state is not resolved.
